WINTERSVILLE -- Indian Creek High School Performing Arts students will present “The Outsiders” Friday and Saturday.

Performances are set for 7 p.m. each night in the school auditorium with tickets on sale for $10 at the door with payment by cash only. Based on the popular S.E. Hinton novel of the same name, the story was adapted by Christopher Sergel and follows Ponyboy Curtis and his friends, who are part of a gang known as the Greasers and clash with a rival upper-crust group known as the Soc’s in Oklahoma during the 1960s.

“It’s about the class struggle between the Greasers and the Soc’s as told from the perspective of the bright but unfortunate character Ponyboy,” said performing arts instructor Bobby Zinsmeister. “It is a favorite book of my students and they asked me to produce it.”

The cast features Lee Simmons as Ponyboy, Rae Smith as Johnny, Logan Plante as Bob, Kole Daughtery as Randy, Cora Barcalow as Two-Bit, Gavin Banks as Darry, Grey Lash as Sodapop, Nyrobie Harmon as Sandy, Morgan McCumbers as Cherry, Lily Zinsmeister as Marcia, Cameron Minor as Mrs. O’Briant, Grant Arbogast as Jerry, Tiegan Chaffee as Doctor, Audrina Hosfelt as the Nurse, Addalyn Alloggia as Mr. Syme, and Londynn Hawthorne as Paul. Ensemble members include Carmen Rodriguez-Cosme, Promise Hunt, and Ryleigh Brooks. The production is being directed by performing arts pathway senior Cat Eisnnicher with Frankie Rieder as stage manager, Kaylin Lee as sound assistant with sound design by teacher Michael Minor.

The crew includes Adrian Cornish, Paisley Tolman, Nanette Hatt, Gianna Peviech and Audrey McKinnon.

Groovy Drinks will provide concessions for the evening. Zinsmeister said the play does depict violence, so it is recommended for audience members in middle school and above. For information, contact ICHS at (740) 264-1163 or email ichstheatre@gmail.com.
