WEIRTON - The Top of West Virginia Arts Council will welcome the Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club for a special photography exhibition featuring selections from the club's annual juried photo contest.

The exhibit will be on display Wednesday through 30 at the Summit Art Gallery, located inside the CVB offices at 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17, Weirton.

To celebrate the opening, a public reception will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, with participating photographers in attendance to provide an opportunity for visitors to meet with the artists and learn more about the featured works.

The annual juried competition consists of 16 different categories, and all images were taken using digital and film cameras as well as cell phone photography. It gives club photographers an opportunity to have their work evaluated and recognized, with selected photographs being showcased as part of the Summit Art Gallery exhibition.

"We're excited to welcome the Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club back to the Summit Art Gallery and give local photographers a place to share their work with the community," said Rachel Keeney, executive director of the CVB.

The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Two Ridges Presbyterian Church Hall in Wintersville. Meetings are free and open to individuals of all ages and experience levels.

More information about the club can be found on its Facebook page or at uovcc.org.

The Summit Art Gallery is open for viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
