Contributed FOOD DRIVE PLANNED — The Jefferson County Democratic Party is one again helping to organize a Thanksgiving food drive.

STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Democratic Party is once again organizing a Thanksgiving meal drive to help local families enjoy a traditional holiday meal, continuing a community initiative that brought assistance to residents throughout the area last year.

Building on the success of last year’s effort, the party is inviting individuals, businesses and community members to contribute to this year’s drive. To encourage participation and maximize the impact of every donation, the Jefferson County Democratic Party will match contributions dollar for dollar, up to $2,500.

“Our Thanksgiving drive is about neighbors helping neighbors and making sure more families can enjoy a special meal together during the holiday season,” said Eddie Abdalla, chairman of the county Democrats. “We were proud of what our community accomplished last year, and we want to build on that success. By matching donations up to $2,500, we hope to encourage even more people to join us in making a difference for local families.”

Last year’s program provided assistance to families through local food pantries, churches and community organizations, helping extend the reach of the effort to residents across the county. The party hopes to build on that foundation this year through the generosity of donors and the continued support of community partners.

“The holidays should be a time of gratitude, family and togetherness,” Abdalla said. “We recognize that many families face financial challenges, especially as the cost of everyday necessities continues to increase. This is an opportunity for our community to come together and offer a helping hand to those who could use a little extra support.”

The Jefferson County Democratic Party encourages anyone interested in supporting the Thanksgiving drive to participate. With the party’s matching commitment of up to $2,500, community donations can go even further in helping local families enjoy Thanksgiving.

The party believes that serving the community means more than politics. It means recognizing local needs, bringing people together and working to make Jefferson County a better place for everyone.
