Follansbee Council to meet in special session
FOLLANSBEE - Follansbee Council will meet in special session at 5:50 p.m. Monday in order to address issues in relation to a sinkhole on Shannon Boulevard.
The session will be followed by council’s regular meeting at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
Veterans Memorial Bridge closures set
WEIRTON - The West Virginia Division of Highways has scheduled multiple closures of the Veterans Memorial Bridge as part of a cable replacement project on the span.
Closures, which will affect traffic in both directions, are set for 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday; 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday; 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Oct. 28; and 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Oct. 30. The closures are being held during these hours to minimize the impact on motorists. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated.
Detours have been established using the Jennings Randolph Bridge between Chester and East Liverpool, and the Wellsburg Bridge between Brilliant and Wellsburg.
County Road 28 to be closed
STEUBENVILLE -- Jefferson County Road 28 from county Road 30 to county Road 65 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, the Jefferson County Engineer’s Office has announced.
There will be no through traffic.
