On a roll: An Adams Street resident was held without bond Thursday after he allegedly threatened that "before he dies he was going to kill her" Police report Daljeet Singh, 32, 406 Adams St., Apt. 1, also allegedly threatened to rape a city patrolman and allegedly assaulted a male correctional officer while he was being booked into the county jail. The correction officer told them he'd been hit in the face and...had a visible cut" on his face, police said. Singh was charged with assault and two counts of aggravated menacing.
Double dipping: Occupants of the Dodge Caliber who left Rural King Wednesday without paying for $211 in automotive tools also left Kroger the same day without paying for $250 in merchandise they'd loaded into a shopping cart. Police said when the wheels to the cart locked up the two of them "dragged it outside" and the woman retrieved the car and "pulled up to the front of the building where the merchandise was loaded into the car."
Slipsies: A ramp was heavily damaged Wednesday when a front-end loader slipped off it during the delivery process Wednesday at a Detmar Lane business. Police were told an employee of the carrier, an Illinois company, had advised the buyer that it was "ready to go" so the employee backed the loader off the trailer but it slipped off one of the ramps. Damage to the ramp was estimated at between $4,000-$7,000, but the front-end loader was not damaged.
Fraud: A city resident reported that over the last few weeks someone has made several purchases using her debit account. She told police the purchases totaled more than $500.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 1203 Ridge Ave., 308 Belleview Blvd., 1223 Ridge Ave., 1225 Ridge Ave., 1241 Ridge Ave., 1244 Ridge Ave., 1511 Maryland Ave., 1513 Maryland Ave., 1504 Foster Place, 1201 Pennsylvania Ave., 423 Rosemont Ave., and 1700 Oregon Avenue plus two adjacent (same owner) lots, high grass.
Cited: Sara C. Waldrep, 20, 1310 Park St., Steubenville, speeding (school zone); Brittany A. Bliss, 40, 219 Opal Blvd., Steubenville, failure to stop for a school bus in the school zone; A Cadillac STS parked in the 400 block of Linden Avenue and a Honda Accord parked in the 500 block, both with expired plates, were towed.
