Brilliant Legion fish fries are back
BRILLIANT -- Fish Fries at the Brilliant American Legion will return on Friday and Friday will be held every Friday until Nov. 20.
After a break for the holidays, the fish fries will resume on Feb. 12 and run through April 2.
The menu includes a choice of Coleman’s fish, chicken planks, shrimp, wing dings or fish nuggets. All of the above can be bought as dinners or smaller portion baskets. Dinners include bread, french fries and coleslaw. Onion rings can be substituted for an additional $1.
Other menu items include french fries, onion rings hush puppies, mozzarella sticks and hot or mild cheese balls. The hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Orders can be called in to (740) 598-3515.
The Legion is located at 210 Market St., Brilliant. Limited delivery will be available.
Allman documentary comes to center
PITTSBURGH -- Fans of Gregg Allman and the music that defined a generation will have a chance to experience his extraordinary story on the big screen when “Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul” documentary comes to Kamin Science Center, Pittsburgh’s most visited museum.
Presented by Rich Engler, the documentary will screen Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Rangos Giant Cinema, featuring Pittsburgh’s largest movie screen and an immersive sound experience that brings the energy of a live concert to the big screen.
The 96-minute documentary explores the life, music and legacy of Allman, co-founder of the legendary Allman Brothers Band. Through rare archival footage, unforgettable performances, and intimate interviews, the film chronicles Allman’s journey through triumph, tragedy, addiction and redemption -- and the music that helped shape American rock.
Directed by Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning filmmaker James Keach, “Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul” is receiving an exclusive Pittsburgh screening at the Rangos Giant Cinema.
Tickets are $25 and are available at KaminScienceCenter.org.
For every ticket sold to the film, $2 will benefit the Gregg Allman Scholarship Fund or a local charitable organization dedicated to supporting live music.
Four Seasons club meets
STEUBENVILLE -- The Four Seasons Senior Club held met Sept. 16 at 7 Ranges.
President Gene Viola called the meeting to order, and Mary Alice Meyers gave the opening prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of “God Bless America.”
Entertainment was “Family Feud,” and prizes were won by Phyllis Kolopajlo, Mary Alice Meyers, Frank Cole, Martha Varick and Ray and Jean Dalfonso. Door prize winners included Norma Eltringham, Helen Bayne, Cei Finley and Lew Lewis.
Birthdays for Cei Finley and Jerry Williams were recognized, as was the anniversary of Ray and Jean Dalfonso.
Faye Jones gave the secretary’s report, and Valerie Rowland gave the treasurer’s report.
Mary Alice Meyers gave the closing prayer.
The next meeting will be Oct. 26 at Undo’s.
