Four Seasons club meets

WEIRTON -- The Four Seasons Senior Club met Aug. 19 at Undo’s.

President Gene Viola called the meeting to order, and Mary Alice Myers gave the opening prayer, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of “God Bless America.”

Entertainment was provided by Rick Grimm. Barb Guglielmo was the winner of the 50-50, and prizes were by Nancy Smurda, Jack Billham, Diann Starr and Regina Truax. Nancy Smurda handled the sign-in book.

Dinner winners were Nancy Ramsey and Laura Mamula.

Birthdays recognized included Cheryl Thompson, Terry Ramsey, Ruth Masters, Mary Alice Myers, Marlene Dunn and Delores LaRosa.

The anniversary of Regina Truax was recognized.

Faye Jones gave the secretary’s report, Valerie Rowland gave the treasurer’s report and Josie Cekinovich and Liz Beecroft offered jokes.

Mary Alice Myers gave the closing prayer.

The club’s next meeting will be held Sept. 16 at 7 Ranges.

Monthly sale returns

WELLSBURG -- The monthly soup and sandwich sale is returning Sept. 9 to St John Church, 1300 Charles St, Wellsburg.

Sponsored by the Altar and Rosary Society, the menu will include bean and ham, chicken noodle, green pepper and vegetable soups; Italian meat and cheese hoagies; Italian-style pulled pork; and chicken croissants; and homemade desserts.

Lunch starts at 11 a.m. and runs until the food is sold out.
