STEUBENVILLE POLICE
-- Run off: A city resident told police he'd been chased off Pleasant Heights by individuals in a red car Tuesday. He said he was walking with his girlfriend when someone in the vehicle started chasing them. When they split up, the car continued following him. At one point, he jumped a fence and slid down a hill, hitting his chin. He had a gash on his chin and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
-- Rowdy: A city resident told police an "intoxicated male" was threatening to beat him and a woman up Monday on Washington Street at Court Alley. He said the man had been at his home earlier in the day drinking when the three decided to walk downtown. While they were in a downtown business, the caller said the man "head-butted" him. He had no visible injuries.
-- Charges filed: A female in the 300 block of Henry Avenue told police she'd argued with her male companion and claimed that at one point he grabbed her hair and hit the back of her head Sunday. Police charged Kenneth Geiger, 46, 1533 Euclid Ave., Steubenville, with domestic violence. He also was served with an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.
-- Traffic stop: Kenneth Geiger Jr., 19, 825 Rosswell Ave., Steubenville, was charged with driving under suspension after a traffic stop in the 100 block of Wildon Avenue. Police allege Geiger argued that he'd stopped the truck before the officer activated his emergency lights and said he has driving privileges, but the officer pointed out that they are limited to driving to or from work or school. The officer also cited his mother, Debbie Geiger, 49, also of 825 Rosswell Ave., who was charged with disorderly conduct. Police allege Mrs. Geiger came to the scene and "began yelling and cursing" and continued to "act out" even after being warned she could also be charged, at one point telling police to "go ahead."
-- Walk off: A North Sixth Street resident said she had her phone on her porch when a man came to her residence Saturday with alcohol. She said after he left she couldn't find her phone and believed he may have taken it. She said he returned later with her phone "and...an altercation took place and he choked her."
-- Booked: Harry Hoberek, 47, no fixed address, falsification, warrant for probation violation and warrant for misdemeanor theft (Sunday); Cier'ra Kugler, 36, Steubenville, served with warrant for failure to appear (Tuesday).
-- Cited: Sophia G. Miller, 21, Easley, S.C., speeding (school zone); Petera Robinson, 713 Market St., Apt. H, Steubenville, speeding; Wilson A. Salvatierra Yuman, 31, 1420 Oregon Ave., Steubenville, no operator's license and fictitious plates.
