Heave ho: Three panic alarms were triggered Friday at the Veterans Affairs office because a man who was belligerent and arguing with the staff allegedly "threw a clipboard and was harassing employees." They wanted him to leave and "come back at a later date" when he'd calmed down. The man said he'd been having trouble breathing and needed a stress test and had recently lost his housing and complained that he'd been treated poorly.
Problem solved: A female claimed two women assaulted her boyfriend and threatened her Thursday. She said the two told her "she would end up in a morgue" but the boyfriend said he doesn't want to pursue charges and it was his girlfriend who "was causing problems with the females after the problem was solved." His girlfriend was irate and said she was leaving the area, then circled back and tried to re-enter the building. She was advised by police as well as JMHA security that she'd be arrested if she didn't leave.
Attitude adjusted: A woman wanted to file domestic violence charges Thursday against a male companion who'd slapped her. When she told police they don't live together, are not now nor have they ever been married, and don't have children in common, police told her all she could charge him with is assault and report she "became uncooperative" and said she didn't need help.
No sense: A possible overdose was reported in the 100 block of N. 4th Street Saturday. Police said it was "obvious she was overdosing" and she was taken to the hospital for treatment. After she was revived with Narcan she told police she'd "snorted a long line of fentanyl" just before firefighters got there. She was given an overdose form.
Overnighter: A woman in the 100 block of N. 4th Street said someone pilfered $83 from her account Saturday. She said a male who spent the night at her place knew her PIN, so she texted him to find out if he had it but he denied it.
Par 3: A Sherman Avenue resident told police she'd been storing three spare tires on her front porch for about a month and when she took them to the garage to have them installed found out they had "large holes in them, possibly from a knife."
Drug problem: An unresponsive female was reported in the 4300 block of Southeast Drive Friday. City firefighters told police they had to give her three doses of Narcan to revive her. She was given a drug treatment form.
Big haul: Rural King employees reported Friday a man has come into the store at least seven times over the past month and grabbed empty display boxes that he stuffs with hand tools and other hardware before he tapes them up, walks up to the cash register and checks out. The man has stolen at least $2,676 in merchandise, they said.
Yard wasted: A Hollywood Boulevard resident said a hit-and-run driver left the roadway Thursday and struck his iron hand railing and cement stairs, damaging both. Police said his railing was broken and laying in the yard, along with large pieces of concrete.
Goodbye girl: A woman was refusing to get out of a car in the 1500 block of Euclid Avenue Friday. She left after police were called but they located her near The Laundromat and told them she needed a ride to Wintersville. They took her.
Charged: Walmart employees claim a woman tried to leave the store Friday with baby food and bath products she hadn't paid for. The merchandise involved totaled just over $213, but employees asked that the store be reimbursed for frozen foods valued at $52 that couldn't be returned to stock. Dejah N. Bethley, 34, 125 Troy Dr., Apt. A, Wintersville, was charged with misdemeanor theft, police said.
Scammed: A woman in the 800 block of N. 6th Avenue told police scammers claiming to be with the Geek squad conned her out of $240.
Tipsy: A man who injured his head and hand in the Hollywood Boulevard parking lot Sunday told police he'd been drinking. He was treated at the scene by EMS, then police gave him and his dog a ride home.

Cited: Derrick Nesbitt, 65, 833 Oakmont Ave., Steubenville, driving under suspension and expired plates; Mark Q. Cole, 64, 305 Vernon Ave., stop sign violation and failure to reinstate; Henry P. Mieczkowski, 84, 129 Langley Ave., Steubenville, assured clear distance ahead after allegedly rear-ending another vehicle in the 100 block of Linden Avenue; Stephanie Ann Willis, 48, 1532 Euclid Ave., Steubenville, no operator's license; two juveniles caught on camera looking into cars in the 200 block of Pico Street were cited for curfew violations Saturday. Also, a black Mercedes with expired plates parked in the 300 block of S. Bend Boulevard, a silver Honda in the 100 block of S. Bend, a white PT Cruiser parked in the 300 block of S. 7th Street and a Chevy Tahoe parked in the 1300 block of Euclid were all towed.
