Peach festival in Irondale
IRONDALE -- Irondale Christ Community Church will hold its peach festival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
The menu will include creamed chicken on biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans and a wide assortment of peach desserts.
The cost will be by donation.
Urban Mission backing bashes
STEUBENVILLE -- Urban Mission Ministries is making a change in how it helps local families and their children get ready to return to school.
Instead of holding its annual back-to-school rally, the Urban Mission will be supporting other area events, including:
• Aug. 10: Classrooms and Community Back-to-School Bash presented by the Jefferson County Young Professionals, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Main Branch of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County;
• Aug. 12: Sycamore Center and Aim Women’s Center Back-to-School Block Party, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the corner of North and Fifth streets;
• Aug. 13: Seven Ranges Level Up for School Back-to-School Bash, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Seven Ranges Entertainment Center at the Fort Steuben Mall; and
• Aug. 15: Jones Gym Fourth-Annual Back-to-School Bash, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Weirton Event Center.
