Mary H. Weir Public Library expanding hours
WEIRTON -- The Mary H. Weir Public Library will expand its public service hours by opening on Saturday afternoons beginning Aug. 1.
The library will now be open Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m., providing residents with additional opportunities to visit the library, check out books and other materials, use public computers, access free Wi-Fi and enjoy the many resources and services the library has to offer.
The library’s complete schedule beginning Aug. 1 is: Monday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Wednesday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Thursday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday: noon-4 p.m.
The library offers books, audiobooks, movies, public computers, wireless internet access, children’s programming, educational events and resources for patrons of all ages. Community members are encouraged to stop by and take advantage of the library’s new Saturday hours.

UMWA to meet
HOPEDALE -- UMWA Local 1304 will hold its regular meeting Aug. 1 at the Hopedale American Legion, 48225 Rabbit Road, Hopedale.
Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting set to begin at 10 a.m.
Water and sewer district office to close for training
STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Water and Sewer District office will be closed to walk-in customers and phone calls Tuesday, July 28, for staff training.
Normal operations will resume Wednesday, July 29.
