The endowment committee of Weirton’s Cove Presbyterian Church honored four area graduates with scholarships Sunday. The Helen T. Hamill Memorial Scholarship, in memory of a longtime member and Hancock County teacher, is available to all four high schools in Hancock and Brooke counties. These $1000 scholarships were presented to, from left, Daisy Finley of Brooke High School, daughter of Beth and Zane Dicks, who will attend West Liberty University for elementary education; Caden Knisley of Brooke, son of Jennifer Knisley and Micah Knisley, who will attend WLU for elementary education; Hailey Hans of Weir High School, daughter of the late Robert Hans and granddaughter of Sarah Hans, who will attend WLU for speech pathology and audiology; and Olivia Shetler, daughter of Clinton Shetler, who is on active duty for the Air Force and granddaughter of Pam and Robert Dankovchik and will attend WLU for exercise physiology.
