Car Show Set for July 4 in Chester

CHESTER — The Chester Lions Club will hold its annual Fourth of July Car Show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4.

Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and costs $10 per vehicle. All makes, models and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome.

The show will feature 36 awards, including Best of Show, Best GM, Best Ford, Best Mopar and Best Motorcycle. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 170 registrants, and door prizes will be awarded every 15 minutes.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The event also will include a DJ, 50/50 drawing and additional prize drawings.

The show is limited to approximately 175 to 200 vehicles. Organizers encourage participants to arrive early. The rain date is July 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Library to Host Adventure Snacks Program

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will host its Fun Adventure Snacks program at noon June 26 in the River Room.

Participants will sample snacks from different countries, play trivia and learn about snack history. Space is limited and registration is required.

Kids Boat Races Planned at Brooke Library

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will host Kids Boat Races at 11 a.m. June 23.

Children will create their own boats and compete in a regatta-style race. Registration is required.

Summer Reading Program Underway at Brooke Libraries

WELLSBURG — Registration continues through July 31 for the Brooke County Library’s 2026 Summer Reading Program, themed “Unearth A Story.”

The program is open to all ages and includes story times, take-and-make projects, games, missions and prizes.

Participants may register online through Readsquared or by downloading the Readsquared app. All activities are free.

The program is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Wellsburg and WesBanco.

Bookmobile Announces Weekly Schedule

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced the upcoming schedule for its Bookmobile.

— June 22: Bloomingdale Community Building, 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m.; Smithfield Presbyterian Church parking lot, noon-1 p.m.; Dewey’s Deli, New Alexandria, 1:15 p.m.-1:45 p.m.

— June 23: Prime Time, Richmond, noon-1 p.m.

— June 24: Home deliveries beginning at 8 a.m.; Mingo Senior Center, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

— June 25: Nazarene Church, Wintersville, 2 p.m.-2:45 p.m.; Murphy Park, 3 p.m.-3:45 p.m.; Fort Steuben Concert, 6 p.m.

— June 26: Food Drive with Sycamore Youth Center, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Library Adds New Fiction Titles

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has added several new fiction titles to its collection.

New releases include “Choke Point” by Brad Thor, a geopolitical thriller featuring Scot Harvath; “Daughters of the Sun and Moon” by Lisa See, a historical novel centered on three Chinese women in 1870s Los Angeles; “The Most Dangerous Man” by Jack Murphy, a military thriller involving a deadly hunt; and “Meeting New People” by Daniel M. Lavery, the story of a woman reflecting on friendship and life at a crossroads.
