Rainforest Falls VBS set
STEUBENVILLE — Finley Church on Lincoln Avenue invites all kids in kindergarten through sixth grade to Rainforest Falls Vacation Bible School. It will run from June 28 to July 2.
VBS will begin each evening at 6 p.m. and run until 8 p.m.
Kids will venture into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees and colorful creatures where they will plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God.

Father’s Day service planned
STEUBENVILLE — The Agape Church Worship Center, located at 1310 Maryland Ave., will hold an outdoor Father’s Day worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The special guest speaker will be (Happy) John Labriola, east region coordinator for 2nd Thief Ministries.
The church’s annual barbecue will follow, and everyone is welcome, officials said. It will feature games and other activities
Every father present at the beginning of the service (11 a.m.-11:20 a.m.) will receive a ticket for a chance to win a new barbecue grill. The winner must be present, church officials said.

Lavender foundation plans event
STEUBENVILLE — The Ja’Quan Lavender Foundation will hold its fifth-annual Olympic Youth Fun Day June 27 at the Harding Stadium track.
The event, which will run from noon to 3 p.m., will feature track and field-themed activities with enjoyable competition, organizers said. It will include essential nutritional education for health understanding and lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship and self-confidence. All ages are invited to participate.
There will be food, fun and prizes, organizers added.

DD board to meet
STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities will meet in regular session at 4:15 p.m. June 25.
The meeting will be held at the administrative offices, 250 John Scott Highway.

Traffic Commission meeting canceled
WEIRTON — The regular meeting of the Weirton Traffic Commission, scheduled for Thursday, has been canceled.
The commission plans to have its next meeting at 10 a.m. July 16.

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Board of Education will meet Monday at 5 p.m. at the Board Office.
JVS Board to meet June 30
BLOOMINGDALE – The Jefferson County Joint Vocational School District Board of Education will hold its regular meeting, June 30, at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held in the boardroom at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School, 1509 County Highway 22A.
Libraries offer crafts, StoryWalks and summer programs
STEUBENVILLE – The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County is offering a series of summer programs, crafts and activities across its branches.
Beginning June 29, patrons can pick up a patriotic Grab-and-Go craft in time for the July 4 celebration. The craft is provided by the Friends of PLSJ.
The library will also host Paint & Paws at Richmond Park June 28 from 1-3 p.m., featuring a StoryWalk, a Grab-and-Go craft, refreshments from Vandy’s Sugar Shack and dog treats from Hachi’s Bakery. The Jefferson County Humane Society will have kittens available for adoption.
At the Main Library, a new StoryWalk featuring “Diary of a Worm” by Doreen Cronin will begin in July at Beatty Park. Children may pick up a prize after completing the walk.
