Bookmobile schedule announced

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County bookmobile schedule is as follows:

Monday, May 31: 10-11 a.m., Country Club Manor; 11-11:45 a.m., Bloomingdale Community Building; 12-1 p.m., Smithfield Presbyterian Church parking lot; 1:15-1:45 p.m., Dewey’s Deli, New Alexandria.

Tuesday, June 1: Off the road.

Wednesday, June 2: 8 a.m., home deliveries drop-off; 10:30-11:30 a.m., Mingo Senior Center; 4:30 p.m., Wednesdays in Wintersville.

Thursday, June 3: 10:30-11:30 a.m., Our Place 50+, First Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Friday, June 4: 6 p.m., First Fridays in Steubenville.

John Scott Connector work to begin June 1

STEUBENVILLE — Weather permitting, work will begin Monday on the John Scott Connector Pavement Repair Project.

The project includes removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement. Lane closures are anticipated, and drivers should be alert and prepared for lane reductions and slower speeds through the construction area. The Jim Wood Park exit will be restricted to right-turn-only traffic toward Sunset Blvd. No left turns will be permitted out of Jim Wood Park.

The contract was awarded to The James White Construction Co. of Weirton, W.Va., and is funded through the 0.7% city income tax revenue and Ohio Public Works Commission funds.
