Parking problems: Two men in the 1100 block of Arlington Road (rear) were arguing Tuesday about whether there was room for a vehicle to get through. A man loading his truck said he thought he had parked it so the caller could get past, but they ended up arguing and claimed the caller made an obscene gesture in front of his children. The caller said the man frequently blocks the roadway with his vehicle and denied inappropriate behavior, claiming the other man’s children have made obscene gestures at him and cut in front of his car on their bikes.
Vandalism: The principal at Bishop John King Mussio Elementary School told police derogatory comments were discovered carved into a play set. The school did not want to pursue charges.
Asked to leave: Employees at a city business told police a man was soliciting change from customers and wanted him to leave. He told police he was waiting for the bus, but police told him he would have to wait elsewhere.
Booked: Ronald S. Williams, 46, Martins Ferry, held in the county jail without bond on a warrant alleging felonious assault.
Summons issued: Dawn M. Lulla, 55, 2440 Cleveland Ave., Steubenville, theft.
Code issues: Notices were sent to owners or occupants of properties at 1124 Arlington Ave., 503 Union Ave., 701 Rosswell Ave., 717 Rosswell Ave., 736 Rosswell Ave., 801-803 Rosswell Ave., 828 Rosswell Ave., 834 Rosswell Ave., 1307 Cardinal St., 633 Oakmont, 723 Oakmont, 800 Oakmont, 804 Oakmont, 829 Oakmont and 550 Braybarton, all for high grass. Also, 1622 State St., litter and high grass.
Cited: Frank J. Collier, 77, 3124 Glendwell Road, Steubenville, marked lanes violation after a two-car collision Tuesday on Sunset at Belleview.
