Wintersville Council meeting canceled

WINTERSVILLE — The Village Council meeting that had been scheduled for Thursday has been canceled, village offices have announced.

The cancellation was the result of a lack of quorum.

Unionport dinner set

UNIONPORT — A dinner will be held Saturday at the Wayne Township Community Center.

Scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the menu will include ham loaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad, dessert and a drink/

The cost is $15 per person, and all proceeds will benefit the upkeep of the center.

All-you-can-eat breakfast set

WEIRTON — The Northern Panhandle Shrine Club will hold ita all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at its building located at 1221 Rice Blvd.

Open to the public, the breakfast will include pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage links. Coffee, orange juice, hot chocolate and hot tea are included.

The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Children under 6 eat for free.

This will be the last breakfast before October.

Knights plan anniversary celebration

MINGO JUNCTION — Mingo Knights of Columbus of Monsignor Joseph F. Dooley Council 4361 has scheduled its 69th anniversary celebration for April 25 in the hall, 117 Legion Drive.

Council 4631 will mark the occasion by honoring their youth, family, knight, chaplain, blue coat, lady and Volunteer of the year.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Dinner, priced at $20, will be served in the large hall at 6:30 p.m. The menu, which includes chicken cordon bleu, vegetable, potatoes, salad and cake, will be prepared and served by Ohio Catering.

Election Day lunch in Brilliant

BRILLIANT — The Brilliant United Methodist will hold its Election Day lunch (soup and sandwiches) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5.

The menu will include soup (bowls, $3; pints, $4; and quarts, $8) — choice of chicken noodle, vegetable beef, broccoli cheese and bean; pasta salad, $2; sandwiches — meatball hoagie, $6; turkey, $4; sloppy joes, $3; and hot dog, $2; assorted desserts, $1; and soda or water, $1.
