Fundraiser set at Agape

STEUBENVILLE — A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 28 at the Agape Church Worship Center, 1310 Maryland Ave.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.

Alpha Tau meets

NEW CUMBERLAND — The Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators, held its March meeting at the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland. Michelle Lewis, president-Eelect, called the meeting to order.

The thought for the day was given by Chaplain Kathy Griffith. Roll call was taken by Secretary Mary Lou Martindill and minutes were approved as distributed. Treasurer Velda Icard gave the financial report. Officer and committee reports were also given.

Lewis reminded members to bring their change and drawing collections for the scholarship fund to the April meeting. She also announced that the WV Alpha Delta Kappa state convention will be held April 24-26 at Pipestem State Park.

Velda Icard provided a wellness program on simple ways to de-stress and pamper yourself.

The April meeting will include the installation of officers and induction of new members.

Hostesses were Michelle Bernardi and Cara McMahan.

Brunch on the Farm set for July

BLOOMINGDALE — This year’s Brunch on the Farm, an event offering a unique opportunity for the community to experience a real working farm, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 18 at Mercer Farms, located at 5210 County Road 36.

Attendees will enjoy a variety of live demonstrations, featuring topics including drones, equipment, soil health and conservation and more. We will also have a livestock and insect petting zoo available in the Kids Zone in addition to games. Breakfast, lunch and ice cream will be offered through on-site food trucks and Jefferson County 4-H.

This event is sponsored by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau, Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District, Ohio State University Extension and Illumination Financial Group.

Seminars set on fair housing issues

STEUBENVILLE — The city Fair Housing Practices Commission has scheduled a series of seminars aimed at getting anyone with questions about fair housing rights and responsibilities as well as the fair housing complaint process the answers they need.

Sessions are scheduled for:

• April 1. 5 p.m.: First Baptist Church, 334 Cedar Ave., Steubenville

• April 2,1:45 p.m.: SHS Workforce CTE Program, Steubenville High School, 420 N. 4th St., Steubenville

• April 2, 5 p.m.: Public Library of Steubenville & Jefferson County (main branch), 407 South 4th St., Steubenville

• April 14, 6 p.m.: Island Creek Township Trustee meeting, 437 Township Rd. 375

• April 15, 5:30 p.m.: Dillonvale Council meeting, 135 School St., Dilllonvale.
