Lodge members help patients
Weirton Moose Lodge 688 members made a Sesame Street chemotherapy blanket for cancer patients at the West Virginia University of Medicine Weirton Medical Center. The blanket’s purpose is to help patients smile during the difficult times they face ahead in their fight to beat cancer. Lodge members said this is their small way of helping to warm hearts and bodies during chemo treatments. Lodge Administrator Rich Findlay will purchase additional chemo blankets throughout the coming months. The money used to purchase the blankets comes from donations made by lodge members. Those who helped to complete this tie blanket included, from left, Dotty Virtue, Karen Pannett, Linda Krynicki and Dawn Ohalek.
