Library to offer activities for week of Feb. 15-21

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming events and activities that are scheduled to take place during the week of Feb. 15-21.

Anyone interested in attending any of the activities below should register at the respective branch to ensure a seat will be saved.

Main Library (740) 282-9782

Children: Pick up a grab-and-go mystery craft beginning Feb. 18, while supplies last.

Adena Branch (740) 320-0009

Children: Children ages 2-6 can play with toys that help to develop early literacy skills during Play and Learn the Alphabet, set to take place at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 16.

Make a silly valentine monster at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 16. Register to attend.

Brilliant Branch (740) 314-4309

Children: Bring your children, between the ages of 2 and 4, to Tot Time, set to be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 19. Books will be read to the children, songs will be sung and an art activity will be provided. Register to attend.

Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch (740) 314-4310

Ken Hammontree will portray Gen. George Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 16. Register to attend and hear the true story of Washington’s depleted army and the crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas Day in 1776, along with the nine-mile walk to Trenton which ended in the first victory of the American Revolution.

Children: Children ages 2-6 can play with toys that develop early literacy skills during Play and Learn the Alphabet, to be held at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 19. Register to attend.

Adults: Read and discuss “The Women,” by Kristen Hannah at 10 a.m. Feb. 17. Call to reserve a seat for the monthly book club.

Schiappa Branch (740) 264-6166

Open Art Night will be held for all ages and abilities from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17. Supplies will be provided. This monthly program is in partnership with the Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Drop in for Play and Learn the Alphabet at 5 p.m. Feb. 19 and 10 a.m. Feb. 20. Children ages 2-6 will play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge.

Tiltonsville Branch (740) 314-4280

Adults: Join us to create a seasonal scene during a Paint ‘n Sip event at 5 p.m. Feb. 19. The class is free of charge and supplies will be provided. Call to attend.

Children: Bring your children, ages 2-4, to Tot Time at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 17. Books will be read to children, sing songs and participate in an art activity. Register to attend.

Toronto Branch (740) 537-1262

Children: Make a craft at home when you pick up a mystery grab-and-go bag, beginning Feb. 16, while supplies last.
