Library announces upcoming events and activities for week of March 1-7

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming activities for the week of March 1-7.

Adults: The Jimmy Z Trio will entertain with the sounds of jazz at 6 p.m. March 3, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Books on Tap Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 1 at the Hightower Brewing Co. Call to pick up a copy of the book and add your name to the discussion list.

The Deep Dive Book Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. March 3 and March 17 to discuss “Matilda,” by Roald Dahl. Stop by to pick up a copy of the book and register to attend.

Stop by for coffee, doughnuts and a movie at 10 a.m. March 6. Call to find out what will be playing.

Children: Take home a grab-and-go craft or Story Time beginning March 2, while supplies last.

Parents of children ages 2-4 can attend Tot Time at 11:30 a.m. March 2. The program includes stories, songs and an art activity. Register to attend.

Older children ages 5-10 can enjoy stories and activities during Story Time at 5:30 p.m. March 2. Register to attend.

Children: Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday by taking home a grab-and-go Story Time beginning March 2. Bags will be available while supplies last.

National Oreo Day will be celebrated March 6. Stop by for a cookie and hot chocolate, while supplies last.

Adults: A Walk for Fitness activity will begin at 10 a.m. March 1. Follow along to a guided instructional video for healthy walking exercises. Spacing is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Children: Take home a grab-and-go craft or Story Time beginning March 2, while supplies last.

Parents of children ages 2-4 can attend Tot Time at 11:30 a.m. March 5 for stories, songs and an art activity. Register to attend.

Adults: Stop in to crochet, chat and have a snack during Crochet Night at 6 p.m. March 4. Bring your project to work on in the company of others during this non-instructional program.

Children: Parents and children ages 2-4 can attend Tot Time for stories, songs and activities at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesdays, including March 3, March 10 and March 24; and at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays, including March 4, March 11 and March 25.

Play and Learn will be held for children ages birth to 4 at 5 p.m. March 5 and at 10 a.m. March 6. Toys promote alphabet knowledge.

Teens: Register to make a picky pad at 6 p.m. March 4. Choose your color combination and beads to make a craft to keep your hands busy.
