Knights award scholarship to student
Baci Carpico, left, past state deputy of the Ohio Knights of Columbus and current member of the Ohio Charity Foundation, presented a $1,000 check to Mary Rohde, a senior at Catholic Central High School. Principal Todd Phillipson was in attendance during the presentation, recognizing Rohde as she demonstrated outstanding involvement in school and community activities, as well in academic excellence. Scholarship applicants are for students in ninth through 12 grades and who attend a Catholic high school within Ohio. Consideration is given based on a student’s financial need, academic awards, community or parish involvement and extracurricular activities. During this school year, the Knights of Columbus has presented 25 scholarships totaling $25,000. Since the inception of the scholarship program in 1997, the Knights have provided more than $900,000 to outstanding students in Catholic high schools throughout Ohio.
