Shrine club to hold breakfast

WEIRTON — The Northern Panhandle Shrine Club will hold its all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shine building, located at 1221 Rice Blvd. in Weirton. The event is open to the public, with all ages welcome.

Breakfast will include pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage links. Beverages available will include coffee, orange juice, hot chocolate and hot tea.

The cost, per breakfast, will be $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 through 12 and free for children 5 and younger.

Lenten services set in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD — The Church Council of Smithfield announced its Lenten schedule of church services that will take place at 6 p.m. every Sunday throughout a six-week period. The first service to take place will be Sunday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Taylor.

The March 1 service will be held at United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Maggie Holder leading. Additional services include: Smithfield Christian Church, the Rev. Melody Essex, March 8; Mount Moriah Church, the Rev. Phil Bless, March 15; Shaffer Chapel, the Rev. Craig Smith, March 22; and Smithfield Friends Church, the Rev. Rich Cunningham, March 29.

A time of fellowship will follow each of the services, along with refreshments.

Sheriff’s luncheon set for Tuesday

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla Jr. will hold his monthly brunch for area veterans at 11 a.m. Tuesday on the lower level of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, located at 16001 state Route 7 in Steubenville. For information, call (740) 283-8600.

Storytime yoga at library

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Library will hold a Storybook Yoga for Children and Caregivers at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the River Room. Taylor Provenzano from Soulshine Yoga will lead the class. This yoga class combines a storytime, rolled into one. Attendees are asked to bring a mat or towel. Registration is required. Limited spaces are available.

Library offers free AI class

WEIRTON — Tunisha Lindsey is returning to the Mary H. Weir Public Library at 5 p.m. Wednesday to speak on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. The community is invited to attend the free class, which will build on Lindsey’s previous talk at the library in January. All ages are welcome to be a part of the learning event.

The presentation will include new information and software demonstrations, according to library officials, who stated, “Tunisha has a friendly, approachable style and speaks in a way that connects with her audience. She encourages questions and feedback, making AI feel accessible and engaging for everyday people.”

All questions will be answered by Lindsey during and following the presentation. Whether you are an entrepreneur, a parent, a student or just someone who is trying to figure out what the AI wave truly means, this class will be an opportunity to receive those answers.

No technical background is required, as the class is simple, clear and hands-on, officials noted. Participants will be shown how AI can save them time, make life easier and help level up for the remainder of 2026 and beyond. Lindsey is the founder of Loyal Luxuries and the Lindsey Training Academy, and holds a master of arts in curriculum and instruction.

Chamber to hold networking events

WINTERSVILLE — The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce will hold its Business After Hours from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Wine Cellar in Wintersville. Hosted by the Center of Music and Art, the evening will feature a speed networking activity where local professionals will rotate through quick introductions, maximizing connections in minimal time. The cost is $20 per person and includes appetizers, a drink ticket, networking game and an event contact list. Participants are asked to bring business cards. A Young Professionals networking session will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the social club of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 97 in Richmond. Emerging leaders and ambitious professionals in the Ohio Valley can connect with one another during the event, which is designed for those looking to grow their careers, expand their connections and engage with the local business community. No fees or registration are required.

Church Women United to meet

WEIRTON — The Weirton Chapter of Church Women United held its February meeting through a telephone conference call Feb. 6. Eight women from various churches attended, setting the schedule for March, April and May.

The chapter’s next meeting will be World Day of Prayer at 11 a.m. March 6 at Morning Star Baptist Church. Readers for the program were chosen from the women on the conference call. Those planning to attend are asked to bring healthy snacks that will be presented to the Weirton Christian Center. A luncheon will be provided by the women of Morning Star Church. A planning meeting will be held at 11 a.m. April 10 at the Dunbar Center. Friendship Day will be celebrated at 11 a.m. May 1 at Oakland Presbyterian Church. Personal hygiene products will be collected and presented to the Lighthouse. A luncheon will be held following the meeting.
