Candidates Acton and Pepper to visit Buckeye

RAYLAND — Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate who is running for governor of Ohio in the upcoming November election, will be visiting the Ohio Valley this weekend.

Eddie Abdalla, chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, announced Acton’s appearance, saying he is excited for this meet-and-greet opportunity for our community.

Acton is scheduled to appear at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the auditorium of Buckeye Local High School, located in Rayland.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m.

The event will include an appearance by David Pepper, a former Ohio Democratic Party Chairman and a candidate who is running for the position of Ohio’s lieutenant governor.

Those who are planning on attending are encouraged to bring along friends or family members.

Abdalla said officials are hoping for a large turnout. He exclaimed, “It is important for people show up and hear from Acton, herself, on how she will build a stronger Ohio and what she can do as governor to lower energy price increases that we are all experiencing.”
