Alpha Tau Chapter assists library staff

NEW CUMBERLAND — The January meeting of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland. The meeting was called to order by President Fran Jones.

Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading from “Walking in Grace,” as the thought for the day.

Secretary Mary Lou Martindill read the minutes of the previous meeting and took roll call.

President-elect Michelle Lewis requested members provide volunteer information for the altruistic report.

Ginger Greene, bylaws chairman, reported the updated policies and procedures manual will be submitted to the state bylaws chair. The selection of representatives for the nominating committee was approved by members.

The February meeting will include a silent auction, with proceeds being donated to cystic fibrosis.

The business meeting was adjourned, followed by members volunteering to work with library staff as a service project. Areas of assistance included cleaning cupboards in the kitchen and working on labeling publication dates for books in specific areas of the library.
