Students certified

Seniors enrolled in the health technologies program at the Jefferson County Vocational School in Bloomingdale were declared certified phlebotomy technicians after completing the necessary requirements of the National Healthcareer Association. Health technologies instructor Tammy Sismondo explained students had to be present for all hours of the class and clinicals, had to complete at least 100 work hours in a hospital phlebotomy lab and had to apply to take the required testing. The students yielded a 100-percent passage rate at the test’s conclusion. Those certified include, from left, Dana Haynes, Chelsea Channels, Abby Kocher, Kimber Rogers and Olivia Brousseau. Catelyn Schiffman was certified as well.
