Reading program to begin

STEUBENVILLE — “Overdue” it during the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County’s Winter Reading Program. The event will take place from Jan. 12 to March 31.

All ages are welcome to participate, according to officials, who said the purpose of the program is set and meet reading goals to win prizes.

Visit the nearest library branch to pick up a Checkout Challenge packet and get started.

Additional activities scheduled for the week of Jan. 11-17 at local branches include:

Brilliant Branch (740) 314-4309

Children: Paint a winter scene on canvas. This free program will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 17. Registration is required.

Schiappa Branch (740) 264-6166

Teens: Stop in to paint a cat worm at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 12.

Children: Pick up a grab-and-go bag to make a winter craft beginning Jan. 12, while supplies last.

Bring your children to Babygarten at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 15 and Jan. 29. This free lap-sit program is for infants ages birth to 2 years of age and offers rhymes, songs and books. Register to attend.

Tiltonsville Branch (740) 314-4280

Adults: Book club will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 13 to read and discuss “The Kitchen Front,” by Jennifer Ryan. Call to join.

Join us at the Cooking Corner at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 to watch and taste the making of a one-pot cheeseburger soup. Register to attend.
