Low-impact exercise class offered

WEIRTON — The Weirton campus of West Virginia Northern Community College will offer 30 aerobics classes over a period of 15 weeks at the cost of $10.

The $10 covers the entire program, according to Carol Teaff, instructor. The class will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Jan. 20. Registration can be completed online by visiting wvncc.coursestorm.com. Search for “aerobics.”

If payment used will be through a credit card, there will be an additional fee of $2.49, Teaff noted.

This will be a low-impact class, with an emphasis on cardiorespiratory endurance, strength improvement and flexibility. All exercises will be done by standing, with no chair or floor work involved. Movements are usually done to music that generates between 128-150 beats per minute.

Participants should wear loose or stretchy clothing, along with athletic shoes. Bottled water is suggested. Stretchy bands will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own. For information, e-mail Teaff at northernclass@comcast.net.
