JCVA to hold Veterans Day program

SMITHFIELD — The Jefferson County Veterans Association will hold its Veterans Day program at 3 p.m. Nov. 11 at the 4-H building in Friendship Park, located in Smithfield.

The afternoon’s guest speaker will be Ray Hildebrand, Jefferson County Fair Board president. A light lunch will be served following the program. Desserts will be offered, courtesy of Tim Horton’s.

Sheriff to hold veteran’s brunch

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla Jr. will hold his regular monthly brunch for area veterans at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The event will take place on the lower level of the Jefferson County Detention Center, located at 16001 state Route 7 in Steubenville. All military veterans are welcome to attend the free event, as Abdalla’s way of thanking veterans for their service to not only our country, but our community. For information, call (740) 283-8600.
