Class of ’67 to meet today
WEIRTON — Weir High School’s Class of 1967 will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. today at Havana Nights Bar and Grill, located at 222 Park Drive in Weirton. The restaurant is located near the Pizza Hut, officials noted. All classmates, along with their spouses, are invited to attend.
Senior center to hold dance
WEIRTON — The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold its next dance on Thursday, with couples having an opportunity to slow dance, linedance and enjoy one another’s company.
All dances are open to the public, with everyone encouraged to attend. The cost for singles is $10 or $15 for couples. Guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share. The center will provide the main dish and drinks, with dinner to be served at 7 p.m.
A 50/50 drawing is held during each dance. In addition to Thursday, upcoming oldies’ dances will be held Nov. 6, Nov. 20 and Dec. 4.
Money generated from the events will go toward purchasing a new roof for the center, located at 3425 Main St. For information, call the center at (304) 748-3490.
Shrine club to hold Saturday breakfast
WEIRTON — The Northern Panhandle Shrine Club will hold its all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shrine Club building, located at 1221 Rice Blvd. in Weirton.
The breakfast is open to the public, with everyone welcome to attend the fundraiser. The meal will include pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage links. Coffee, orange juice, hot chocolate and hot tea will be included. The cost will be $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for those under 6.
Church to hold soup and desserts sale
BERGHOLZ — The East Springfield Global Methodist Church of the Cross, located at 7712 state Route 43 in Bergholz, will hold a soup and desserts sale from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Dine-in or carry-out service will be available. The public is welcome to attend the fundraiser, which will benefit the church’s mission committee.
Pints or quarts of soup will be sold for the cost of a donation. Officials noted there will be six or seven different soups available for purchase. For information, call (740) 543-3282.
Museum to share spooky tales
TORONTO — The Historical Society of Toronto’s Main Street Museum will present “Folklore, Legends and Ghost Stories of the Ohio Valley” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The museum, located inside the Karaffa Recreation Center on Dennis Way, will welcome Paul Zuros, director of Historic Fort Steuben.
Zuros is the author of “Historic Tales of the Upper Ohio Valley,” and will share these types of tales with those in attendance. Guests will have an opportunity to share their own ghost stories and legends during the free program. The museum will remain open for visitors through October on Tuesday evenings between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Those interested in visiting the museum after October will need to call for an appointment, officials stated.
Church to hold Halloween event
STEUBENVILLE — The Agape Church Worship Center, located at 1310 Maryland Ave. in Steubenville, will hold a Boo and Bonfire event beginning at 3 p.m. on Oct. 25. The afternoon will feature an inflatable slide and bounce house for children from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. A bonfire will start at 6 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m., rain or shine, officials noted. Hotdogs and smores will be served over the open fire. The movie “Casper” will be shown outdoors, beginning at dusk. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Museum to hold Holiday Fest
KNOXVILLE — Volunteers association with the Pleasant Hill School House Historical Museum announced a Holiday Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Knoxville Fire Hall, located at 15447 state Route 152 in Toronto.

Chamber to hold awards dinner
STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting and awards dinner at 5 p.m. Oct. 29 at Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Christ the Teacher Academic Hall.
The opening reception will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 6 p.m. Officials will celebrate the past year’s accomplishments and honor those who have made a significant impact on the community, organizers stated.
Laughs coming to church
RICHMOND — Those looking for an evening of laughter and entertainment in the Ohio Valley can mark their calendars for 7 p.m. Nov. 8, for that is when the Funny Together Tour will be coming to Richmond.
The clean comedy show featuring national touring comedians will make a stop at Richmond Methodist Church, located at 112 S. Sugar St.
The show will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Although the event is still a couple of weeks away, tickets are on sale at funnytogethertour.com.
This special event will feature three talented comedians known for their hilarious, but clean, stand-up, including Rhonda Corey, Gordon Douglas and Leslie Rob.
