WINTERSVILLE — “The best art show in the area” will be coming to the Center of Music and Art in Wintersville in the near future. And organizers cannot wait.

The grand opening of the Steubenville Art Association’s GOAT Art Show is scheduled to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. This particular show calls for all artists of the SAA to decide which art piece is their “greatest of all-time,” and then, present that piece to the show. Artists of the SAA answered the call from Gerald VanScyoc and Kennedy Conrad, art instructors at the music and art center.

VanScyoc and Conrad asked artists to present their works for a public viewing, with each member choosing that one painting they consider their best work.

There are 20 paintings of various styles using different media from different genres, according to Judy Schmidt, president of the SAA.

“Every one of them is a feast for the eyes,” Schmidt commented. “Each painting is done by a different artist, and although 20 paintings does not make for a large art show, these paintings do make for the best at the best art show around.”

The public is invited to come and meet the artists and enjoy some refreshements. There is no charge to attend.

Members of the SAA and staff at the Center of Music and Art will be available to answer questions regarding what each artist has to offer.

The SAA has room for anyone of any talent level who loves the visual arts and want to join the club.
