Friends of NRA to hold banquet for 4-H

MINGO JUNCTION — The Friends of the NRA Foundation will hold a banquet fundraiser for the 4-H Shooting Sports program in Jefferson and Harrison counties.

The event will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Mingo Knights of Columbus Hall in Mingo Junction, located at 117 Legion Drive.

Celebrate a legacy of shooting sports traditions, joining other champions of the Second Amendment for dinner, drawings, auctions and an evening of fun.

There will be chances to win exclusive NRA guns, gear, decor and collectibles.

Tickets begin at $60 each and go up to $2,500 for a sponsorship that includes a VIP table for eight and more amenities.

A steak or chicken dinner will be included in the price, officials noted.

Additional options are available for seating. Guests can receive tables which come with tickets to participate in games that will take place that evening.

Proceeds will go to assist the shooting sports program, according to organizers of the event.

Shooting sports provides a variety of education materials, safety equipment, firearms and more for on-hands learning to all children who are in 4-H and interested in learning these types of projects, officials stated.

Projects which are offered through the 4-H program include: Shotgun, rifle, pistol, hunting and wildlife, living history, muzzleloader, safe use of guns, basic archery, archery and crossbow.

Entry tickets for prizes are based on the cost of the ticket, with certain prizes awarded for specific monetary amounts.

Parents who would like to sign their child up for any of these programs or who would like to attend the banquet, can contact the Ohio State University Extension office at (740) 264-2212 in Jefferson County or (740) 213-3093 in Harrison County.
