Cadiz church to hold picnic
CADIZ — The Cadiz Presbyterian Church will hold its worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday at Sally Buffalo Park. A picnic will follow the service.
Campers and the public are invited to attend, according to church officials.
The church will provide the meats for the picnic, with guests being asked to bring a covered dish to share with those in attendance.
Hancock Farm Bureau dinner set
NEW MANCHESTER — The Hancock County Farm Bureau will hold its annual covered dish dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the New Manchester fire station.
Representatives from the state Farm Bureau office, along with agents from the Farm Bureau Insurance Co. of West Virginia, will be on hand to answer questions.
State and local government officials will be in attendance. All members are encouraged to attend. Anyone interested in learning what the Farm Bureau can do for the community is invited to attend.
Democratic Women to meet
WEIRTON — The Hancock County Democratic Women and the Hancock County Democratic Women Executive Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday.
The meetings will take place at the Blue Steel Cafe and Grill, located inside the Steel Valley Bowling Center on Elaine Street in Weirton.
The group’s guest speaker will be Tera Shepherd from the nonprofit Community Bread Basket.

St. Agnes women to meet
MINGO JUNCTION — The next meeting of the St. Agnes Catholic Woman’s Club will be held on Tuesday at the church hall. Members will be preparing for the church’s annual pumpkin roll sale, with sale dates to be announced.

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library’s Crocheting Club will meet at noon on Wednesday in the River Room of the Brooke County Library.
The group is for adult beginners through experts. Bring your own supplies and projects.

Library to show film
WELLSBURG — The Follansbee Library will show the movie “The Phoenician Scheme” at noon Sept. 19.
The rated-PG-13 film features Anatole “Zsa-zsa” Korda, a ruthless, unscrupulous and one of the richest men in Europe who during the final stages of a vast, decades-long, career-defining business project, survives a sixth assassination attempt.
Korda must appoint a successor: His long-estranged daughter, Liesl — a nun. With personal tutor Bjorn in tow, the trio set off on a globetrotting adventure to achieve Korda’s epic mission.
Attendees are permitted to bring a lunch to the screening. Popcorn and water will be provided.

Library to hold book club
WELLSBURG — A group of friends, a good book and free-flowing discussion … doesn’t that sound like the ingredients for a wonderful experience?
Those at the Brooke County Public Library believe so and have announced Book Club will meeting at 5 p.m. Sept. 25 in-person and virtually to discuss the book “The Last Thing He Told Me,” by Laura Dave.
Members will receive the book for October at the meeting. Book Club is free and open to the public.

Church to hold Autumn Music Fest
STEUBENVILLE — The Agape Church Worship Center, located at 1310 Maryland Ave. in Steubenville, will hold its first Autumn Music Fest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 27.
The concert is free and open to the public.
According to officials, this festival will be the first of many annual concerts performed at the church.
A drawing and silent auction is among the activities slated for the afternoon. Concessions will be available by the church, including hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, taco in a bag, pop and water.
Those scheduled to perform include Salvage Title, LBM Records artist MoTruth, Present Day Alter, the Rev. Gary Germany Do You Believe Ministries and praise and worship teams from area churches.
