Cadiz Women’s Golf League
The Cadiz Women’s Golf League held its annual Guest Day Scramble July 19. Scramble results included: Sherry Sapon, Joyce Berdine and Chris Muroski, first place; Roberta Cireddu, Jenna Britton, Tracy Amos and Tina Phillips, second place; and Karen Sims, Pam Didomenico, Laura Daily and Janis Cook, third place. The women enjoyed a salad and sandwich bar following golf. A 50/50 drawing and basket drawing were held.
The league met for play July 23. Hostesses were Paula Hope and Brenda Hartley. The Play of the Day was Low Score on Par Fours. Winners were: Marilyn Kenny, Roberta Cireddu and Denise Augustine. Kathy Smith, Kathy Newburn and Cireddu had birdies. Yuko Atwell, Augustine, Vickie Grant, Smith and Newburn had chip-ins.
Spring Hills Ladies League
The women of the Spring Hills Ladies Golf League met for play Thursday. The Play of the Day was Three Blind Mice. Winners were: Tammy Koutsky, A Flight; Veronica Foldi, B Flight; and Carmela Wallace, C Flight. The winners for longest drive were: Ruth Reese, A Flight; Linda Caputo, B Flight; and Tammy Cox, C Flight. The winners of closest to the pin were: Neysa McCart, A Flight; and Brenda McCloskey, B Flight.
Town and Country Ladies Golf
The Town and Country Ladies Golf League met July 24 at Spring Hills Golf Club. The Play of the Day was Throw Out Your Worst Two Holes. First-place winners were: Signa Findlay tied with Dorothy Baierd, A Flight; Vicki Broska, B Flight; and Dora Elizaga, C Flight.
The winners for longest drive on hole No. 3 were: Findlay, A Flight; Broska, B Flight; and Elizaga, C Flight. The winners for longest drive on hole No. 5 were: Kathy Antinone, A Flight; Marilyn Crew, B Flight; and Elizaga, C Flight. The winners of closest to the pin on hole No. 8 were: Megan Evans, A Flight; and Debbie Hendricks, B Flight. Findlay was the winner of low putts, with 17.
Highland Springs Ladies League
The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf League played the back nine holes Monday. The Play of the Day was Par Fours. Winners were: Veronica Foldi, first place; Laura Froehlich, second; and Tammy Koutsky, third. Yuko Atwell was the winner of closest to the pin on second shot on hole No. 14; and the winner of the longest drive on hole No. 16. Erin Ankrum had a chip-in on hole No. 10 and was the winner of lowest putts.
The nine-hole league is open to all women golfers. Play is held each Monday from May through September at Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg. Tee-off begins at 5 p.m. To participate, call the club house on the day of play by 3:30 p.m. at (304) 737-2201.
