Library announces movie night at fort/activities
STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced an outdoor movie night will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the amphitheater at Historic Fort Steuben. A movie which the entire family can enjoy together will be shown.
Officials have announced additional upcoming events and activities for the week of Sept. 3-9 at branches throughout Jefferson County.

Adults: Books and Bites traveling book discussion will meet at the Laurels of Steubenville at 3 p.m. Thursday to discuss “The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife,” by Anna Johnston. The Laurels will serve the character, Fred’s favorite foods, consisting of roast beef, chicken, mini meat pies, pumpkin, potatoes and peas at the cost of $19. Call to register for this event, which is part of the Library Card Sign-Up Month event.
The Mystery Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. Sept. 8 to discuss “Elementary, She Read,” by Vicki Delany. Register to attend.
Children: Tot Time will be held for parents and children between the ages of 2 and 4. Interactive stories and songs will be among the activities offered. Tot Time takes place at 11 a.m. Tuesdays, including Sept. 9, 16 and 23. The class is offered at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, including on Sept. 11, 18 and 25.
Pick up a grab-and-go mystery craft Sept. 10, while supplies last.
Teens: A grab-and-go mixed-media project which combines digital art and hands-on crafting, will be available beginning Sept. 8, while supplies last. The project is for those between the ages of 12 and 18.

Adults: Linda Lee Cermak Kocan will discuss her book “Harvesting Memories,” at 5 p.m. Sept. 11. Kocan will share stories about growing up on her 150-acre family farm during the 1950s and ’60s. Stories surrounding her values and family roots were to be passed down to her children and grandchildren. They are now placed within the book for all to learn from.

Adults: Pack your garden seeds and head to the library at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10. A seed swap will be led by master gardeners of the Ohio State University Extension office. The gardeners request seeds are clearly labeled with the variety name, year they were saved and be seeds less than 2 years old.
Tot Time is returning to the library. Parents are encouraged to bring their children, ages 2 to 4, to this class that shares stories, rhymes and songs. Stop in at 4 p.m. Mondays, including on Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29; or at 10 a.m. Tuesdays on Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30. Sign in at the children’s desk prior to class. Should the Tuesday class be full, an additional class will be offered at 11 a.m. Tot Time will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesdays on Sept. 10 and Sept. 24.
