Digital Day to donate through McDonald’s app
STEUBENVILLE — McDonald’s restaurants throughout the Tri-State Area will raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Pittsburgh and Morgantown on Friday.
The chapters will earn 20 percent of all sales that are purchased through the McDonald’s app, according to officials.
This fundraiser is just one way in which McDonald’s owners and operators can support the families being served by their local Ronald McDonald House.
The mission of RMHC is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need health care.
Each chapter strives to keep families together and near the care their children need, recognizing the emotional and financial strain that serious illness can place on families.
“It’s an honor to provide support to our local Ronald McDonald House Charities chapters from Shamrock Shake sales in the spring, to the Round-Up for RMHC program and more,” commented Twila Mezan, who owns and operates McDonald’s locations in Pittsburgh and Wheeling.
“Our hope is that our local communities will come out to support the needs of families who are away from their homes, providing medical care for their children,” Mezan continued. “The success of this RMHC Digital Day will allow families to feel supported, without worrying about costs associated with finding a place to stay.”
Each restaurant announced it will donate at least a minimum contribution of $250 to its local RMHC chapter.
“Our local McDonald’s owners and operators, along with their crew and customers, have always been champions for the work we do at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown,” stated Eleanor Reigel, chief executive officer of RMHC of Pittsburgh and Morgantown.
“We are grateful for sharing a portion of your revenues to help us serve families in need of support,” Reigel added.
