Library to read aloud
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Swaney Memorial Library will participate in West Virginia Read Aloud, part of the upcoming Dolly Days event.
Activities will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the library, located at 210 Court St. in New Cumberland. The event will be open to all ages and features the story “Corduroy,” by Don Freeman. In addition, there will be activities, crafts and a snack for participants.
To ensure there will be enough supplies and space for everyone to attend, registration is required. Children can be registered by calling (304) 564-3471.
Alexus Strnisa, community outreach liaison for the Hancock County/Brooke Family Resource Network, will be on hand selling root beer floats, organizers noted. Families are encouraged to attend this fun, free community event.
