The All Saints Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society presented the Salvation Army of Weirton with a $1,000 donation. The money was raised through proceeds earned during the society’s annual Easter Greek Bake Sale. This is the fifth consecutive year Philoptochos has donated to the nonprofit organization as part of its city-wide philanthropy from their sale of Greek twist cookies and Easter bread. “Philoptochos is proud to support the efforts of the Salvation Army, whose mission exemplifies the spirit of assisting those in need,”stated Alexandra Melonas, financial secretary for the Philoptochos Society and parish council officer for All Saints. “Our Ladies are honored to give back to our community through our bake sale fundraisers.” Those taking part in the donation presentation included, from left, Salvation Army Majors Tonya and Eric Roberts and Melonas.
