Four Score Seniors play card games at meeting
WEIRTON — Members of the Four Seasons Senior Club gathered for their monthly meeting June 18 at Undo’s restaurant in Weirton.
President Gene Viola called the meeting to order, welcoming those in attendance, after which Tony LaRosa gave the opening prayer and led in the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Those in attendance sang “God Bless America,” after which attendees participated in various card games.
Prizes were won throughout the evening, according to officers.
Mike Rowland was the winner of the 50/50 drawing.
Liz Beecroft was the winner of the sign-in-book, although she decided to donate her prize back to the club.
Door prizes were won by Rita Oiler, Larry Purks, Helen Bayne and Barbara Purks
Undo’s gift certificates were received by Larry Purks and Cil Finley.
Those members who celebrated a birthday in June were recognized, including Regina Truax, whose birthday was noted as being June 5.
The winners of card games included Patti Betram, Finley, Barb Gugliemo, Ruth Masters, Bayne, Barb Cerra, Kim Stempien, Masters, Barb Purks and Rowland.
The secretary’s report was given by Valerie Rowland.
The treasurer’s report was given by Josie Cekinovich.
There was no old business to conduct, officers noted.
Under new business, it was announced that club prices will be going up for the August meeting.
The group’s next meeting is scheduled to take place July 16 at Giovanni’s restaurant in Weirton.
Jokes were told by Beecroft, James Cerra and Viola.
LaRosa provided the closing prayer before the meeting was adjourned.
