Budget hearing set for Wednesday
WINTERSVILLE — A public hearing regarding the 2026 budget of Seven Ranges Joint Fire District of Jefferson County will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The hearing will be held at the office of the Board of Trustees, located at the 911 Center, 300 Airport Road in Wintersville.
The Seven Ranges Joint Fire District will hold its regular meeting following the budget hearing at 7 p.m.
Public hearing set for Monday
RICHMOND — A public hearing will be held regarding the budget prepared by the Village of Richmond in Jefferson County, for the next succeeding fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2026.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at the Richmond City Building, located at 37 W. Main St.
Museum to hold ice cream social
TORONTO — In observance of National Ice Cream Day, the Historical Society of Toronto will hold an ice cream social from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 20 at its Main Street Museum, located inside the Karaffa Recreation Center on Dennis Way.
The museum will have quilts and needlepoint on display that have stories tied to the city, officials noted.
Fantasy film to be shown
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will show a live version of the original, PG-rated, animated film “Snow White,” at noon on July 11.

Library offers outdoor fun
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library, located at 945 Main St. will be offering outdoor activities such as sidewalk chalk drawing, at 11 a.m. on Monday.

Rock art offered

Dungeons and Dragons class offered
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will holda Dungeons and Dragons class for middle- and high-school students from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Classes will contine at the same time each Tuesday and taught by Daniel Melching and David Nixon, who will bring everything needed for a game.

Mah jongg played at library
WELLSBURG — Those who enjoy mah jongg or would like to learn to play the game involving tiles, are invited to the Brooke County Public Library from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Friday. Those with tiles are welcome to bring them.

Church to hold yard sale
STEUBENVILLE — Rosemont Chapel, located at the corner of Williams Boulevard and Goulds Road, will hold a Trash and Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 12.
The sale will feature a variety of household items and other miscellaneous bargains, according to church organizers. Hot sandwiches will be available for sale.
Church celebrates Father’s Day
BRILLIANT — The House of Prayer Church, located on Riddles Run Road near Brilliant, held a special Father’s Day service June 11. Gifts were distributed to all of the fathers in attendance, according to church officials.
Special gifts were presented to the following fathers: Roger Swigert, oldest father; Jim Westfall, youngest father; and Doug Bensie, father of the year.
South Side High reunion set
HOOKSTOWN, Pa. — Those who attended South Side School in Hookstown, Pa., between the years 1957 and 1994, are invited to attend a multi-class reunion set from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Hookstown Grange Fairgrounds.
This will be the first of what organizers hope to be many more reunions, officials commented. All graduates and their spouse or significant other are invited to attend the event. The cost will be $10 per person if paid by July 31. The payment will cover the cost of the rental, water and other necessities for the day.
Organizers are looking for volunteers from each class to assist during the event. Food trucks will be on site between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Attendees can purchase their own food from the trucks, but water will be provided through the admission fee.
Guests are permitted to bring their own snacks, food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well. Classmates can bring their own tent or camp chair. Music will be provided during the evening.
