AHEPA donates

The Order of AHEPA Hancock Chapter No. 103 presented donations to three local nonprofits in the hopes of helping the community. President James Antoniou authorized donations be made to the Weirton Salvation Army, the Community Bread Basket and the Weirton Christian Center. Salvation Army Major Eric Roberts accepted a $400 gift, while Tara Shepard accepted $200 for the Community Bread Basket. Kim Weaver accepted $450 for the Christian Center. AHEPA members in attendance included Antoniou, Steve Psaros, Nick Proakis, Gary Mastromichalis, Harry Brown and Ernie Nicholas Jr. Charted in 1926, AHEPA helps those in need, donating to financial assistance when possible. The group has made a contribution in support of the fires on the island of Chios, Greece. Members also support the Weirton Medical Center Easter Egg Hunt, Upper Ohio Valley United Way, Weirton Elementary backpack program through First Christian Church and Dolls for Underprivileged Children. Wreaths are presented during Memorial Day and Veterans Day services.
