Highland Springs Ladies Golf League

The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf League played the front nine holes on Monday.

The play of the day was Select Drive. Two players tied for first and two tied for second place. A scorecard playoff was used to determine the winners. Following the playoff, Yuko Atwell was named the first-place winner and Tammy Koutsky, the second-place finisher. Erin Ankrum finished third.

Denise Augustine won the prize for closest to the pin on second shot on hole No. 5.

Tammy Jackson claimed the prize for longest drive on hole No. 7.

Laura Froehlich had the lowest putts for the round. Atwell and Jackson birdied the sixth hole.

The nine-hole league is open to all women golfers. Play is held every Monday from May through September at the Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg.

Tee-off takes place at 5 p.m. Those interested in joining can sign up on the day of play no later than 3:30 p.m. by calling the clubhouse at (304) 737-2201.

Town and Country Ladies Golf League

The Town and Country Ladies Golf League held medal play at Spring Hills Golf Course June 5.

Winners of Low Gross were: Signa Findlay, A Flight; Dora Elizaga, B Flight; and Toni Dondzila, C Flight.

Winners of Low Net were: Dorothy Baier, A Flight; Debbie Hendricks, B Flight; and Shirley Guida, C Flight.

Winners of the longest drive on hole No. 2 were: Findlay, A Flight; Pat Zorne, B Flight; and Guida, C Flight.

Winners of the longest drive on hole No. 6 were: Baier, A Flight; Hendricks, B Flight; and Guida, C Flight.

Winners of the closest to the pin on hole No. 8 were: Diane Vandine, A Flight; Hendricks, B Flight; and Nancy Lellie, C Flight. Findlay was the winner of low putts with 15.

Spring Hills Ladies Golf League

The Spring Hills Ladies Golf League met June 5. The play of the day was Subtract Your Putts on the back nine holes.

Winners from A Flight included Veronica Foldi, first place; and Cynde Vidas, second place.

The winner of the longest drive was won by Ruth Reese. Closest to the pin was won by Tammy Koutsky.

Winners from B Flight included Linda Caputo, first place; and Patty Powelson, second place. The winner of the longest drive was won by Tammy Cox.

League play is held at 5 p.m. Thursdays.

Cadiz Women’s Golf League

The Cadiz Women’s Golf League met June 11. Hosts were Judy Crawshaw and Kim Ochsenbine.

The play of the day was Fairways Minus Putts. Winners were: Kathy Newburn, A Flight; Brenda Hartley, B Flight; and Pat Stewart, C Flight.

Putt winners were Sherry Sapon, A Flight; Mary Carter, B Flight; and Cathy Jackson, C Flight. Roberta Cireddu and Kathy Smith had birdies.

Donita Rush, Smith and Yuko Atwell had chip-ins.
