Reading program activities set

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its second week of activities that are being centered around this year’s summer reading program. The theme will be entitled “Color Our World.”

Adults: It’s all about color for this year’s summer reading program. The library will host a special Book Club at 5 p.m. June 19 to discuss “The Green Mile,” by Stephen King. Download a digital copy or visit the Main Library to pick up a physical copy of the book that was made into a movie. Snacks will be included. To reserve a seat, call the branch in advance.

Coloring is not just for children anymore. Adults can color pages which are designed especially for them from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 16. Supplies will be provided.

Children: Families can enjoy a giant bubble show featuring Ringling Bros. alumnus Logan Jimenez, who will combine crazy circus stunts, daring escapes and crawls inside a giant balloon at 11 a.m. June 18. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pick up a grab-and-go kaleidoscope craft on June 19, available while supplies last.

Make an Earth model using paper mache. There will be three sessions in which to complete the project. Sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. on June 16, June 30 and July 14. This program is for children between the ages of 6 and 14. Register to attend.

Play and Learn the Alphabet will take place at 11 a.m. June 18. The activity is for parents who have children between the ages of birth to 4 years old. Stop in to play with toys which encourage alphabet knowledge.

Teens: Create punch needle art from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 18.
