Urban Mission launches campaign

STEUBENVILLE — In response to today’s ongoing struggles, including high inflation and funding delays, those with Urban Mission Ministries remain steadfast in their mission to provide healing, restoration and transformation to vulnerable members of society. The Urban Mission has launched a $1 million campaign to expand its reach and impact across Jefferson, Belmont, Harrison and Carroll counties in Ohio and Brooke and Hancock counties in West Virginia.

Since its founding in 1959 as a Mill Men’s Hostel, the Urban Mission has continually evolved to meet the needs of the community. Despite changing at times, its guiding motto remains, “To listen with compassion and serve with love.”

The mission is inviting individuals, businesses and organizations to join in making a lasting difference. Executive Director the Rev. Kimberly Arbaugh emphasized the role of community involvement. “When we help the most vulnerable in our area, we make our communities stronger,” Arbaugh stated.

Anchored in faith and service, the organization’s 2025 theme verse — Isaiah 30:21 — reflects its mission: “This is the way, walk in it.”

Urban Mission Ministries is asking those who share its vision to stand together in support of those in need. Contributions can be made online at urbanmission.org or by mailing a check to: 311 N. Sixth St. Steubenville, OH 43952. For information, call (740) 282-8010.
