Libraries to offer rewards for reading
Staff members at the Brooke County Public Libraries in Wellsburg and Follansbee will offer readers of all ages, from youth through adults, a chance to get away … if only in the pages of a good book.
Participants will qualify to be entered into drawings that will see giveaways that include books, games, gift certificates and pool passes.
Points can be earned for reading a certain number of minutes, or setting a designated number of books to complete, depending upon one’s age group.
Participants can earn points through July 31 by logging their reading.
Readings can be logged through the ReadSquared app found at bcplwv.readsquared.com, or on paper by contacting either library branch at (304) 737-1551 or (304) 527-0860.
In keeping with the program’s theme “Color Our World,” Library Director Alex Schneider, along with Kim Harless, the libraries’ director of educational programs, have planned a variety of activities that will not require participation in the program.
The program is being sponsored by Wellsburg Elks Lodge 1553.
