Church ready for Greek Fest

STEUBENVILLE — Today is the start of the 39th-annual Greek Food Festival, and those at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will help celebrate the occasion by offering a variety of foods for sale.

Grecian dinners will range from $10 to $15 and includes your choice of roasted chicken, lamb stew, plaki (baked fish) or loukaniko (sausage.) All dinners excluding lamb stew will be served with rice pilaf and green beans.

Items that will be sold a la carte include: Pastitsio for $9, spankakopita, $4; tyropita, $4; moussaka, $10; dolmathes, three for $5; rice pilaf, $4; green beans, $4; or cheesecake, $6.

Pastries available include baklava, $3.50; koulourakia, 12 for $9; karithopita, $3; kourambiedes, $2.50; melamakarona, $2.50 each; almond cookies, $3; loukoumades, six for $5; fataifi, $3.50; diples, $3.50; baklava sundae, $6; and sno-cones, $2.

Gyros will be $9 each, souvlaki is $5, fries are $5 and Greek fries will be $6.

Beverages such as water and pop will be $2. Frappes will be $4, freddo espresso, $5; freddo cappuccino, $5; mythos wine seltzers, $5; draft beers, $4; and mixed drinks, $6.
