Town and Country Ladies Golf

The Town and Country Ladies Golf League played it's first round of medal play May 8 at the Spring Hills Golf Course. The low gross winner was Signa Findlay.

Kathy Antinone was low net.

Findlay had low putts for the day with 16.

The league resumed medal play at the Spring Hills Golf Course May 15.

The winner of the low gross score was Veronica Foley.

The winner of the low net score was Marilyn Crew.

Winners of the longest drive on hole No. 3 were Diane Vandine, A Flight; Crew, B Flight; and Nancy Lellie, C Flight.

Winners of the longest drive on hole No. 7 were Vandine, A Flight; Pat Zorne, B Flight; and Shirley Guida, C Flight.

Closest to the pin on hole No. 4 were Linda Staffilino, A Flight; Rose Kaczmarek, B Flight; and Guida, C Flight.

Findlay and Antinone tied for low putts at 18.

Highland Springs Ladies Golf League

The women of the Highland Springs Ladies Golf League played the front nine holes on Monday.

The play of the day was Low Gross.

Play of the day winners were Laura Froehlich, first place; Neysa McCart, second place; and Yuko Atwell received third place following a scorecard playoff with Ruth Reese.

The winner for the longest drive on hole No. 6 was Denise Augustine.

Closest to the pin on second shot on hole No. 8 was won by Erin Ankrum.

Ankrum was the winner of low putts and had a chip-in on hole No. 4.

League play will not be held on Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday. Regular league play will resume June 2.

The nine-hole golf league is open to all women golfers. Play is held every Monday from May through September at the Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg.

Tee-off begins at 5 p.m.

Women wanting to sign up, can do so on the day of play by 3:30 p.m. by calling the clubhouse at (304) 737-2201.
