MINGO JUNCTION — Residents of Mingo Junction gathered for the village’s annual Memorial Day service held on Monday.

Mayor Judy Ruckman welcomed those who came out to remember all of the servicemen and women who have served in the military who are no longer with us today. Ruckman began the morning’s program by leading those in attendance in the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. During the service, American Legion Post 351 Commander Bob Smith read the names of those who have been placed on the community’s Honor Roll.

The guest speaker for the day was village firefighter John Losey, a veteran who served in the Air Force.

Losey urged everyone listening to be sure to keep a piece of Memorial Day and all that it represents, in every day of the year, as it is of such significance that we should always remember. Members of the Legion performed a rifle salute at the conclusion of the ceremony, along with the playing of taps.
