STEUBENVILLE — The personal journey of Rebekah Cohen Morris, along with the impactful work she performs in her role as executive director of the Aim Women’s Center, captivated students of Edison High School during a huddle meeting of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club.

Morris, who took on the role in October 2024, moved with her family from Georgia to Steubenville in order to reside in a community that aligns with faith values.

Under her leadership, the center has not only expanded its services, but has located an establishment which will be the site of a maternity home for expectant mothers in need.

During her discussion, Morris detailed her transition from being a public high school teacher and Doraville City Council member, to becoming a nonprofit leader who is dedicated to serving women and families throughout the Ohio Valley.

Her narrative resonated with FCA students, as many expressed the desire to volunteer with the women’s center following her presentation.

Organized by Edison student leader G.G. Zimmerman, the event featured Morris as its guest speaker upon the recommendation of Bobbyjon Bauman, the FCA’s area representative.

Zimmerman explained the “profound effect” Morris’s story had on the group, stating, “The students were on the edge of their seats, truly moved by her testimony.”

Morris will serve as the featured speaker during the upcoming Sycamore FCA Summer Camp, according to officials.

The camp has been scheduled from June 16-20.

The camp will run daily from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and will conclude with a free trip to a Pittsburgh Pirates home baseball game.

The camp will be free to attend. Those interested can register online at sycamorecenter.com.
