Golf scramble seeking sponsors

STEUBENVILLE — The Dean Martin Association will host its first Charity Golf Scramble on June 13 at the Steubenville Country Club.

This event will bring together golf enthusiasts, community members and supporters, for a fun-filled day benefiting the Ohio Valley Health Center.

The center provides high-quality health care to uninsured and underinsured individuals in the Ohio Valley, regardless of their ability to pay.

In addition to assisting the center, the scramble will continue the legacy of one of Steubenville’s favorite sons, Dino Paul Crocetti — also known as Dean Martin.

The day will kick off with registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Participants will enjoy the scramble, along with contests, drawings, food and entertainment inspired by Martin, himself.

“This event is a celebration of everything Dean Martin stood for — community, generosity and a little bit of fun,” said Cindy Williford, event coordinator and vice president of the Dean Martin Association.

The Dean Martin Association Charity Golf Scramble is the second outing named for Steubenville’s favorite son, with the Dean Martin Tuscon Open being the only other golf event bearing Martin’s name, she explained.

“We’re thrilled to welcome golfers of all skill levels to join us for a great cause and a great time,” Williford added.

Sponsorship opportunities and team registrations are now open. Those interested in sponsoring a hole at the cost of $200, can do so by completing a form and checking off the number of the hole to be sponsored. Each hole number has a corresponding song title of Martin’s. To register, visit deanmartinassociation.com/golfscramble.

A variety of sponsorship levels are available to choose from, including the “Ocean’s 11” Platinum Sponsorship for $3,000. Those sponsoring this level will have their company name on hole No. 1, a foursome, a display of your company banner at the scramble, sponsorship recognition and logo display through social media, sponsorship board and four tickets to your show of choice at the Spot Bar during the Dean Martin Hometown Festival.

The “Everybody Loves Somebody” Gold Sponsorship will cost $2,000. Those selecting to sponsor this category will receive their company name on hole No. 1, a display of their company banner at the scramble, sponsorship recognition and logo display through social media and sponsorship board.

The “That’s Amore” Silver Sponsorship will cost $1,000 and includes your company name on hole No. 1, a display of your company banner at the scramble, sponsorship recognition and logo display through social media and sponsorship board. “The Caddy” Bronze Sponsorship will cost $500 and include your company name on hole No. 1 and sponsorship board.

Those who are unable to become a sponsor but would like to make a gift of a dollar amount, can complete a form with the amount of your donation.

Anyone unable to provide support through a monetary donation can donate an item toward the event’s silent auction or drawing. The donated items will be “greatly appreciated and beneficial to this event,” Williford said.

Checks can be made payable to the Steubenville Cultural Trust, and mailed to: The Dean Martin Association Charity Golf Scramble, P.O. Box 972, Steubenville, OH 43952.

“The Dean Martin Association receives no funding or financial incentive for this event,” Williford concluded, adding, “100 percent of all monies go to the Ohio Valley Health Center on behalf of the Dean Martin Association.” All contributions are tax deductible.
